The ReinHeart TAH GmbH developed the total artificial heart system "ReinHeart" as a new therapy of terminal heart failure. It can completely replace the function of the natural heart as an alternative to heart transplantation. A waiting time for a donor heart is eliminated and the desperate shortage of donor hearts is eased. Thus, for many patients who otherwise have a high risk of dying on the waiting list, a life of better quality will be possible.
